  i see many threads that address this issue, but i still don't have a clear thought on this.

  so i want your help.. the governing body misleads the members- no doubt.

  they do change some of their history to make the wt organization look smarter or better-guided by "jehovah.

  The real harm done by the WTBTS

  when i first realized that the wtbts was not teaching the truth, i thought "well, they are basically good people and teaching some morals, so what real harm is there?"..

  then i started looking at the opportunity cost.

  by this i mean all the things that a jw does not have access to if they believe the wtbts nonsense.

  The reason the teachings are redundant and unsafe is the WTS. thinks the best way to run and guide humanity is to emulate

  ancient cultures such as the Israelites and their social morals of their time. In practice this can be a very damaging and counterproductive

  of an effort.

  Witness funeral used to spread "Watchtower Propaganda".....worldly family left OUT!

  now that my "eyes are open" i was amazed as i sat at a brothers funeral {he died due to lukemia/not taking blood} the elder mentioned his "spiritual" acomplishments for 20 minutes, his worldly acomplishments like creating a home buisness from scratch and employing his whole family was mentioned in one sentence.

  and worst...his worldly family was barely mentioned...he did not mention he was the son of so and so {worldly folks} this was commented on afterwards by worldly friends!???

  too much time was spent talking about paradise and the hopes he had etc etc...same old bible verses that were done to death.....blah blah......we may as well have been at a communist party meeting!

  The JWS exploit ever opportunity they can to sell their religion, funerals are just one of these opportunities.

  Mostly they are infomercials for themselves, a whole lot of JW dogma and very little talk about the person that actually passed away.

  It is deemed a sin to give praise of an individuals accomplishments while they were living, unless of course how well that

  person preached or pioneered as a devoted slave to the WTS.

  Review: Installed my free Windows 7 upgrade on my laptop

  first, i'll answer the question that most everyone seems to be asking: .

  q: should i upgrade to windows 7. a: if your xp or vista is working for you, don't waste your time or money upgrading.

  (if it ain't broke don't fix it) if you plan on buying a new computer, certainly try windows 7.. .

  I was a beta tester this summer and the improvement over Vista is noticeable for just about every user.

  I now use it as my main operating system on my computer with VISTA and XP as secondaries.

  Recently installed a SSD drive from OCZ put Windows 7 on it and it is the fastest OS that I ever had.

  It is well known fact that the psychology of fear spreads quickly ( imminent Armageddon ) and gets people attention and motivates people to take action.

  The WTS. exploited bible scripture as well as the people that listened to them to buy and sell their literature .

  All under the label of god's will and purpose of course.

  Stir in a bit of manipulation, exploitation and a bit of corruption and you have the WTS. religious publishing company.

  There'd be blood all over me. Sounds like maybe an accomplice/hired killer.

  That was my thought as well and it certainly is common when trying to kill a spouse off

  to collect on a life insurance policy. I think the police were right, it was all a carefully but sloppy

  devised murder. Perhaps Kelle knew his marriage was going down the tubes which may have financial ruined him

  so he took action to that would have put him a much better position, financially rich with the kids all to his own, not to mention

  all the love and empathy from the local congregation and community.
